Paul Hennessy with his wife Cate and their two daughters Bridget and Kerry and son Rory simple living a simple family life implementing 8 simple rules, not only good for dating but also for family relationship. One morning Paul went to grocery store to get milk, he suffered a
massive heart attack. Cate now find herself in precarious position raising their three teenagers while holding her full time nurse job in nearby hospital. Her father Jim separated from his wife was there spending days for home improvement and giving little relief, guidance and comfort for his grandchildren while Cate's wayward nephew C.J. moves in sharing trouble humors and questionable advice to the kids.
